Motto : EL SOLÊY LÛT POU TERTOUS

Remark :
The sundail is made in a stone (100x100cm) of Soignies (blue stone in Hainaut)
As early as the house was built, a place was foreseen for the dial.
The table is facing South-East (22° declination)
Together with the coordinates and the marks of soltices and equinoxes, one can find the birthdates of the five house inhabitants joined to the initials of their first names:
- Oct, 11 -> TH (Thierry)
- Sep, 27 -> MR (Marie-Reine)
- Aug, 4 -> E (Elodie)
- Jun, 3 -> M (Marion)
- Mar, 24 -> S (Sandrine)
On the left to these curved lines, one can read the six letters of the familly name: DANOIS (the O is facing the equinoxial line)
The year on the dial - 5993 - is a reminder to the building of the house (1993) and refers to the five inhabitants
One will notice the Alpha and Omega as well as a sun (on which the style is centered) and a moon quarter on its left
The motto is in walloon of Le Centre (around the city of La Louvière) and may be translated by 'The sun shines for everybody.
The table shows the summer time (Roman) and the winter time (Arabic) in true solar time (corrected with respect to the longitude) - with the half and quart hours
One will also find on this rich sundial an analemm ('8' curve) acting as the equation of time
