Photo : Secretary of Queen Fabiola (2000)
More details : see here
Remark :
This classical sundial on a monumental pedestal is located at the Fridhem detached house in the royal estate. King Baudouin and queen Fabiola were frequently coming here, almost every weekend. After the death of the king in 1993 the queen was still going there on her own.
Jozef Weyns, the first curator of the open air museum in Bkrijk (Genk) had given some advises for the building of the detached house. The name Fridhem' is of Swedish origins. This was the name of his grand parents' palace.
It is not allowed to take a picture of the sundial. The queen decided to take one herself, and she did it.
